All of these are taken on the canal outside our block of flats. I walk past this lot at least twice a day!

The swan may have 7 cygnets, but this duck has 11 ducklings!

We saw her on her nest a few weeks ago, and she had 8 eggs. She is now the proud mum of 7 cygnets!

18/04/2005 - getting bigger

It's growing. One of the other coots has had two chicks, but it looks like none of the other eggs have hatched. One of the coots had 4 eggs but has ended up with no chicks...

The first hatchling we saw this year. I keep an eye on them when I walk past every day on my way to work.

This coot had a bra as part of it's nest. A few days later it had two!
