We were very lucky with the weather for Elizabeth's birthday, and the children spent most of the time playing outside. There was a bit of time for pass the parcel, and for Grandad to get Micky the dog out though!
We went to Odd's farm on Clare's birthday this year!
Elizabeth's first ever visit into London. We visited the London Aquarium and watched the boat race go past.
Pops has been busy painting his garage!
We had hospitality with our tickets, with lovely food, a talk from Ieuan Evans, and a quick visit from Jonathan Davies. Wish we could do it more often!
Clare's Christmas present was tickets to the last game of the 6 nations - Wales v Ireland. All the Denleys came into Cardiff to take in the atmosphere.
We gave up on waiting for Elizabeth to sleep through the night so we can do fun things. It was sunny in the morning so we headed off to Thorpe park with our new Merlin Annual passes. By the time we got there it was cold and windy though, and started raining heavily about an hour later. Glad we didn't pay the entry fee!
This is a victorian 3d picture viewer.
Freddy's 3rd and Emily's 1st. Elizabeth had a great time, and is slightly obsessed with party food.
making welsh cakes in Wales tops with Aunty Anne Marie.
Elizabeth's reward for (almost) sleeping through the night 5 times was a visit to Monkey Mates play gym. She is getting more confident now...
This was snowman number 1, built with Rebecca and Callum from next door. Snowmen numbers 2 and 3 followed shortly after.
Exploring up in the loft. There is barely room for Elizabeth to stand upright up there.
I think Elizabeth enjoyed the air blower more than the bowling this time!
Elizabeth sharing with Emily. The toy hamster in a ball was a present, and Elizabeth decided to call it Owl for some reason. Also, while the main point of it is to let it run around on the floor, she insists on carrying it everywhere.
Emma and Freddy liked the playroom!
Elizabeth loves stickers. She plays with them every day, and seems to enjoy sticking them on us.
We made a flying visit to Swansea too, and dropped off a noisy bubble blowing Thomas train for Milind. Sorry again Rach.
Dinner with the Denleys at Nana and Pops house.
Snow White is Elizabeth's favourite of the princesses, so Nana and Pops bought her the official Disney dress while we were in Florida.
Dinner at our house with the Humphries.
We bought Elizabeth a Thomas the tank engine that moves along blowing bubbles and playing the theme tune. As you can see she quite enjoyed it, but we didn't realise quite how many bubbles it would produce!
Alice is one of Elizabeth's best friends at nursery, and this was her first birthday party.
If you've looked in the Florida album you will have seen that Elizabeth had an autograph book to collect the characters signatures. Clare got Elizabeth to pretend to be Minnie Mouse, and she signed (scribbled in) all 50 odd cards that we sent out. She was very helpful with the stamps too.
We landed back in the UK at about 8 in the morning having had very little sleep, but to get over the jetlag wanted to stay awake as long aas possible. So we decided to go and get a tree and put our decorations up. A bit early, but it did keep us awake!
Predictably we went off to Florida again this year. Some of the time it was a bit cool (down to 4 degrees C some nights) but it hardly rained at all. More photos up under The other stuff/Trips/Florida 08.
well, I say big bed, but when we checked it was only actually about 3 inches bigger than her cot. She has had it a while now, but this is the first picture we have taken - very unlike us!
A slightly different swimming photo as it is Clare doing the lesson with Elizabeth. I hurt my back picking Elizabeth up in the middle of the night before so sat this one out. (It's two days later now and it's pretty much better - in case you were worried)
We went to a firework display this evening. A good evening to go as it would keep her up a bit later before the clocks go back. She had been very excited about it all week, but after about the third firework she said she wanted to go home! We managed to see most of it though by leaving very slowly...
Elizabeth just got on our neighbour's trike and she was off, turning corners and cycling up and down slopes. She can't move her trike though!
Elizabeth insisted on helping.
Clare is revising again, so I took Elizabeth off for a trip to legoland. Unfortunately she is still about an inch too short for a lot of the rides.
not quite got the hang of these big beds yet!
Milind didn't take this off for days apparently...
I've put a few photos from our long weekend in Bournemouth up.
After losing our camera a few weeks ago, we bought another, which Clare promptly dropped. It still works, but the LCD broke, so most of the photos were taken without knowing what we were pointing at and without being able to see it after! Brought back the excitement of getting home from a trip and finding out what your photos are like!
They are under

In if you prefer!
Elizabeth is spending more and more time up high now!
It's all finished at last!
Those are lego giraffes in case you hadn't guessed!
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday Aunty Por,
Happy Birthday to you.
We met up with the Nashs and the Dawsons again for a rainy BBQ.
Emma and Elizabeth giving Emily a cuddle. Do you think Emily looks a bit surprised?
I'm not sure who enjoyed it more!
Unfortunately we lost our compact camera at a car show last weekend, so we've lost a few pictures.
This was taken at Longleat, where they now have an area where you can stop and feed the deer. Elizabeth accused this one of trying to eat her leg, which we are pretty sure it wasn't.
She now thinks that every animal is going to try and eat her leg, and tells them not to.
Probably the best picture Elizabeth has ever drawn! Not a great likeness, but all the features are in the right places :-)
Bit worrying that I only have hair on the sides...
Elizabeth loved the fair. She went round and round again, and went on the bouncy castle, but I think her favourite bit was the animals. This horse was about the right size for her too! She said it was a big horse, even though there was a shire horse behind her!
Ever since we told Elizabeth we were going down to see Milind again, she has been asking every day if she can go. We finally went, and had a lovely day in Swansea, and got to meet baby Jayan, who was born on the stairs in their house about 5 weeks ago! Elizabeth had great fun playing with Milind, but the only thing she talks about now is when Jayan was sick.
I must be lighter than I thought!
I found the fisheye lens for my camera!
Elizabeth is an incredibly helpful person. She wants to help with everything, which is good! Just means it takes a lot longer...
This is the first party that Elizabeth has ever been to. It was Ewan's (from nursery) 2nd birthday (he is the one collapsing the tent in the background). She had a great time!
Seeing as we never had time to use our gym equipment anymore, this room is soon to be Elizabeth's playroom! She is making use of it already...
"Want to go round and round." A sentence we hear a lot these days. This was at the Twyford Scout's fair, where the conclusion of the day was a biplane making three passes over the field and throwing packets of crisps out. Really.
There are some photos where I just don't know what to say about them.
Elizabeth's first experience of high heels. She did manage to walk without falling over!
It was a sunny day so we headed down to the beach. We hadn't counted on the wind though! It was like being in a minor sandstorm at times. Elizabeth enjoyed playing in the sand though, and eating her sand covered chips.
As it has been so sunny recently, Elizabeth has been playing outside a lot with Rebecca and Callum from next door. Elizabeth has got slightly obsessed with them (especially Rebecca), and asks for them all the time, and cries when they leave. Handy to have friends so close though!
Shame she can't reach the pedals.
There were lots of farm animals at nursery today. We think this is a goose, but I'm not entirely sure. Isn't Elizabeth cute feeding it from the cup?
Shame it's full of bark...
Another good day out, although Elizabeth claimed that she didn't like most of the animals.
"Look Elizabeth, a rhino!"
"don't like it"
"Look, an emu!"
"don't like it"
"wow! a tiger!"
"don't like it"
You get the idea. She liked the train ride though. And the pygmy hippos.
This was at the Berkshire college of agriculture open day. It was a good day out, and sunny too!
We went down to Pascale and Paul's house for Pascale's 30th birthday party. Elizabeth was recovering from illness (for a change) so wasn't at her best. There were lots of other babies and toddlers to play with though!
Uncle Martin and Aunty Por visited for the weekend. Unfortunately Elizabeth woke up ill on Saturday morning. Cold, chest infection and teethign all combined this time!
